Are we so divided among ourselves we've forgotten we are one nation united?
What do corporations and politicians have that we as citizens do not have? The answer is organization. We have a network, we have intent and we have a workforce. We even know what we want from our lives and the future of our children. So why do we year after year complain about our economy, our debt and the state of our government? Do we have the means to take our country back and run it as we all clearly know we should? And do we trust ourselves to do so?
Divide and conquer
Before we can organize on the magnitude of corporations and politicians we have to take a careful assessment of ourselves as individuals. We are told we are conservatives and liberals, divided by race and religion. I can't agree with you on anything because you feel differently than I do on certain issues. When conquering and suppressing a force having superior numbers you must first divide them so that they can not unite.
The enemy of my enemy
What is an enemy? Merriam Webster defines an enemy as one that is antagonistic to another; especially: one seeking to injure, overthrow, or confound an opponent . Look at your life and your struggles day to day and ask yourself do you feel injured and confounded? Do you feel powerless to change your own situation? Before I ask you who has made you feel that way ask yourself now does your enemy also feel inured, confounded and overthrown? What true enemy do you have in common?
A revolution of force is conflict. A revolution of ideals is unity
Across the world governments are being toppled and newly seated leaders placed in power. We have witnessed the turmoil and conflicts that result. We as Americans need not overthrow our government but simply enforce for ourselves our already established constitution. We can easily group ourselves among those that believe as we do. But can we group with others that may feel differently but share a common goal?
Our government is divided by Republicans and Democrats yet they can agree they all wish to remain in positions of power. They work together to ensure this mutual goal. Can we do the same as individuals? Are you a Democrat or a Republican? Or do you simply share the same vaguely perceived ideals as those you helped to put into political office? More importantly, do you share their socioeconomic status?
It should not be our intent to stir others into dissension and chaos but rather to stir in ourselves a return to contentment for order. No matter our differences, what we all strive for is the return of our sovereignty. Can we honestly be a united nation if we remain a divided people?
